The weather, currently.

Sunny with upper 80s for Monday, Sept. 19th.

It's that time of the year where we do this dance between, "Oh hey! Look everyone it's fall!" and "Wait, summer is still here. Nevermind." Personally I call this time "Fools fall." Monday will seem like we are back in summer with temperatures climbing to the upper 80s again thanks to a ridge of high pressure over parts of the West. If you miss fall, don't worry, it will be back this week. We see yet another change in temperature (back to the 60s) and more precipitation coming our way on Wednesday.

So let's talk about "summer mode" Monday:

1) Morning: 50s by 6 a.m. and 60s by 9 a.m. with mostly sunny skies.

2) Afternoon: Warmer than yesterday with highs in the upper 80s and sunny skies.

3) What's ahead: Tuesday is about the same. BUT Cold front drops our temperatures by 20 degrees on Wednesday and brings chances of rain to the forecast.

Activity forecast:

Walking, gardening, grilling: An awesome day to do these activities. Make sure to stay hydrated and wear sun protection in the afternoon.

Running, cycling, active outdoor sports: It will still feel like a summer workout. Plan accordingly.

Grapes in California wine country have survived a deep freeze, wildfires, and excessive heat, as climate change continues to threaten the $45 billion industry. Growers, scientists, and winemakers are determined to save their livelihood and are fighting back with technology, according to reporting by CBS News.

For example, researchers are studying various kinds of root stocks to see which are the most drought and heat resistant. Rows of vies are planted in different directions to avoid direct sun, while layers of leaves and artificial shades cover the fruit to keep it cooler.

Grapes are like sponges in a way, as they absorb things from the atmosphere, possibly tainting the wine.
